Cal Bankston – Pastor
Cal Bankston married Tammy Henderson in 1985. Tammy was born and raised in South Carolina where she received a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree from Winthrop University. Cal and Tammy met in Hammond, Louisiana while Cal was attending Southeastern Louisiana University and Tammy was serving as a North American Mission Board US-2 missionary.
Cal actively participates in missions and has a passion for Disaster Relief. His hobbies include woodworking and restoring old cars. Tammy works as a private tutor teaching literature classes for home schooled high school students. In addition, she works as a free lance writer. She has been writing curriculum for the North American Mission Board and the Women’s Missionary Union for the past fourteen years.
The Bankstons have four children. Brady, born July 1988, lives in Massachusetts He has his own home improvement business and has a six-year-old son, Milo. Their daughter, Bailey, born September 1990, received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in sign language interpreting and works as a deaf interpreter in Dothan, Alabama. Bryna, was born in July 1992. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in exercise science in May 2014. Bryna married Manny Cumplido in June 2014. Manny is pursuing a Masters of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Bevin is the youngest of the Bankston children, born in August 1996. Bevin graduated from high school in June 2014. He he recently graduated from New England Institute of Technology where he has a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Tim McDowell – Youth Director
Tim has been involved in youth ministry for 20 years starting in North Carolina before relocating to Rhode Island. He and his wife Lori have been married for 35 years. They have 2 daughters (and son-in-laws) and 4 grandchildren.
Originally from West Groton Ma, he met his wife while they were both serving in the US Navy and stationed in Brunswick Me. They both retired after serving 20 and 22 years respectivly. After retiring from the Navy, Lori received her Music Ed degree from the University of Rhode Island.
They both are active in Music Ministry at Middletown as Tim leads the Praise Team and Lori plays piano.
